Daily Journal: Day 1

So I’m starting a daily journal here on the blog.  I used to blog every couple of days.  Then It went to like once a  week.  Then as the recording started for In and Out of Sleep, the blogging pretty much came to a halt.  Anyways, daily journals will consist of a couple of photos and pretty much a journal-like entry of what I did throughout the day. I’ll also tack on a random video at the end that may or may not relate to the actual entry as well.  I actually kept a physical photo journal like this before but now I’ve decided to take it to the blog:

Day 1 – July 23, 2012

So I woke up at 7:30am this morning to meet up the family at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.  My grandma passed away last week and we finally laid her to rest.  The burial service was about 15 minutes long and was actually kind of beautiful.  My Dad said a few words and then my oldest brother sang a song.  Afterwards, we all went to grab breakfast at Norma’s Cafe.

I don’t hang out with my nieces as often as I should, so it was fun having them sit by me.  I was happy to introduce my older brothers to Norma’s since they have never been before.  Its understandable though, one lives in Chicago and the other lives in Ellis county.  But if you live in Oak Cliff and have never been….its a must.

After breakfast, I fell back asleep.  Woke up.  Then I went down the street to do some laundry.  By that time Jose Gomez had come over to work on some tracks for, In and Out of Sleep.  We tracked out a new beat and I worked on finishing a song called Daydream or Daydreamer.  I haven’t decided yet.  Oh yeah, Danny Cheatwood found his calculator watch that had been missing since he moved back to Dallas.  So its kinda funny cause now we have matching watches…which is also kinda lame…but also kinda cool…but then like…also kinda dumb.  Anyways, he wanted me to tell everyone that he had his first.
